Hello, my name is Irenie. I'm a Scottish singer from the Outer Hebrides. I'm currently 34 but that changes yearly. I am married with our first baby on the way. I've lived in other places, but mostly here on the Isle of Lewis. My musical background is a mix of Scottish Traditional, Gospel, my mother's memory bank, and music from movies. I shyly started to sing in my late teens and surprised myself and others by heading out to McNeills Bar in Stornoway to make my first forays into singing in front of people. Since then, I've performed in many countries, on national radio and tv, on big festival stages and in private homes. Having jobs has made my music move forward in starts and stops but here we are starting again!
I am also keen on other creative outlets and my large family has as much art it's veins as it does music; it seems we can't stay in our boxes! Any of these extras can be found on the shop page.
